About the Principal Investigator

Phil Bernard, MD, is a clinical and research pathologist focusing on developing molecular diagnostics for cancer. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Utah and serves as Medical Director for Solid/Soft Tumor Molecular Diagnostics at ARUP Laboratories Inc. As a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator, he runs a “translational” cancer research laboratory. Dr. Bernard oversees the Tissue Acquisition and Distribution (TAD) Facility at HCI.
