Hui Zhao, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah and a medical physicist at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).
Zhao specializes in the physics of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR). Her clinical and research interests include IGRT, gated radiation therapy, and adaptive radiation therapy.
Zhao earned a bachelor's degree the University of Science and Technology, China. She received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before joining HCI, Zhao completed a residency in clinical radiation oncology physics at Washington University, St. Louis. Zhao is an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
