Premavathy Rassiah-Szegedi, PhD

Associate Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology

Prema Rassiah-Szegedi, PhD, is an associate professor of radiation oncology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and a medical physicist at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Rassiah earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from the Science University, Malaysia. She earned a PhD from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. She completed a fellowship with the World Health Organization at Stanford University Medical Center.

She is an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the American Board of Radiology.

Before joining the HCI, Rassiah was a medical physicist at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center, University of Texas, where she also served as director of the medical dosimetry program.

Her clinical and research interests include intensity modulated radiotherapy and radiobiological and dosimetric algorithms.
