
Patricia Legant, MD, PhD
Patricia Legant, MD, PhD, is a clinical associate professor at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) South Jordan branch. As a general medical oncologist, her clinical interests include multiple kinds of cancers, including breast, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and hematologic cancers (leukemia, lymphomas, myeloma, etc.). Her research interests include cancer survivorship, risk reduction in medical care, and quality measurement of cancer care.
Before HCI, Legant had a private practice for 29 years. She received her PhD in social psychology, with an emphasis on outcomes research, from Yale University. She received a medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. She received training in medicine and hematology and oncology from the University of Utah Medical Center. In the past, Legant served as chief of staff for her hospital, was a board member for the state nonprofit medical malpractice insurance company, and was a board member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). She is currently one of three associate editors of the ASCO Journal of Oncology Practice.
