Paul LaStayo, PT, PhD, CHT, is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Orthopedics, Exercise, and Sports Science at the University of Utah. He is also a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
LaStayo researches the impact of resistance exercise to improve physical limitations in elderly cancer survivors. He focuses on the effects of a particular exercise regime in elderly breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer survivors. LaStayo uses the Utah Population Database and the Utah Cancer Registry to identify participants for his research.
LaStayo received a bachelor's degree from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, and a PhD from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
