Mia Hashibe, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine

Mia Hashibe is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah and a Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) investigator. She is a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program.

Hashibe is interested in the research of global and environmental cancer epidemiology and the etiology of head and neck and lung cancers.

Before joining HCI, Hashibe was a scientist with the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France. She managed epidemiologic research projects and designed instruments for data acquisition. She earned both a master's and doctoral degree from the University of California Los Angeles.
