Juan Gallegos-Orozco, MD
Juan F. Gallegos-Orozco, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Utah School of Medicine and a University of Utah Health Care physician. His main research interests include chronic hepatitis C, liver cancer, and liver transplantation.
Gallegos-Orozco completed fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology as well as a residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he was recognized for his clinical performance with the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award and the Hassan Loutfi, MD, Distinguished Fellow Award. Gallegos-Orozco is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Gastroenterological Association. He received his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (National Autonomous University of Mexico) in Mexico City.
