David A. Wada, MD, is a Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) provider and investigator and assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Utah. He is a member of the Cutaneous Lymphoma program at HCI.
Wada's clinical focus is the diagnosis and treatment of cutaneous lymphoma, lymphomatoid disorders (skin conditions that resemble lymphoma), and cutaneous oncology. His academic interests center on the diagnosis and treatment of cutaneous lymphoma as well as cutaneous manifestations of systemic lymphoid and myeloid disorders. He is board-certified in dermatology, dermatopathology, and anatomic and clinical pathology.
Wada attended the University of Hawaii, where he received a degree in biology with distinction and a master's degree in molecular neuroscience. He attended medical school at the University of Hawaii and completed his first residency in pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. While in residency, he became interested in dermatopathology, in particular cutaneous lymphoma and skin conditions related to hematologic disease. Wada completed a dermatopathology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, then continued his training in clinical dermatology at Mayo Clinic before joining HCI.
