Sara SalmonHi, my name is Sara and I’m an AYA patient navigator. My goal is to help adolescents and young adults break down barriers in health care throughout the care continuum, from diagnosis through survivorship. My favorite part about my role is helping to empower young people to advocate for themselves and their own well-being.

My professional background includes working with young people in health education, problem-solving, and effective communication in the settings of higher education and philanthropy. My academic studies focused on communication in health settings and in interpersonal relationships (BA, University of Illinois; MA, Penn State University).

I grew up in Central Illinois, but I feel most at home in the mountains of Salt Lake City. In my free time, I love to enjoy the great outdoors through hiking and rock climbing, and I’m excited to take my first crack at skiing this winter. I also love exploring the hidden gems of Salt Lake, including movies at Red Butte Gardens and yoga at Liberty Park. One fun fact about me is that in the last 10 years both my cat and I have lived in all four time zones of the contiguous United States.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like more information about your health and care!
