The nurses and health care assistants of the Same-Day (also called Short Stay) Surgery Department deliver world-class care at the highest level of proficiency and efficiency, caring for each patient from pre-operative preparation until the patient is recovered and discharged. Pre-procedure preparation includes a detailed history and labs or other diagnostic tests required to ensure a safe surgical experience for the patient. After the patient returns home, follow-up telephone calls are made to ensure the patient's recovery has been uneventful. Appropriate referrals are made quickly and efficiently if any problems are identified. At least one year of Medical/Surgical nursing is required. Paula Kimble |
