Huntsman Cancer Institute's Head and Neck Cancer Program diagnoses and treats all cancers of the oral cavity, lip, nasal cavity, nasopharynx, oropharynx, hypopharynx, larynx, and salivary gland, to name a few.
Some of the more common cancers and conditions treated include the following:
- Laryngeal cancer
- Thyroid cancer
- Nasopharyngeal cancer
- Oral cancer
- Lip cancer
- Pharynx and oropharynx cancers
- Parotid cancer and other salivary gland tumors
- Head and neck sarcomas
- Skin Cancers including repairs
(basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) - Melanoma on the head or neck
- Hyperparathyroidism
- Thyroid nodules
- Sinonasal and skull base tumors
- Any tumor or mass of the head or neck
- Zenker's diverticulum
- Surgical treatment of facial paralysis
- Osteoradionecrosis
Treatments are individualized for each patient and may include surgery and surgical reconstruction, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and speech/swallowing therapy.
