Non-Surgical Treatment

Chemotherapy - Chemotherapy is a treatment used to kill cancer cells. The type of chemotherapy used depends on the type of breast cancer.

Hormonal Therapy - In certain types of breast cancer, the hormones estrogen and progesterone can cause cancer cells to grow. Hormone therapy is used to block the body’s production of these hormones and stop or help control the cancer. There are drugs that inhibit estrogen and progesterone and drugs or surgery to turn off the production of hormones from the ovaries.

Radiation - Radiation therapy is the treatment of disease using high-energy X-rays. Radiation therapy is often used in the treatment of cancer. It may be used by itself or in combination with chemotherapy.
